This is a crop called Rapeseed. The flowers are bright yellow. If you make the picture bigger you can see the other fields in the background. They use the seeds to make oils for cooking. Much like safflower I think.
Time is flying by. One more week and we are at the half way mark. Time flies when you stay busy.
Raymond Brewer went to church with us today. He hasn't been to our church in 45 years. He joined as a teenager in 1961 and attended a few years and then went inactive and has not attended since. He is now 64. There was one other sister there whom he knew from before. She joined about the same time he did. We have taught him the Restoration and the Plan of Salvation Discussions. He is reading the Book of Mormon and is praying. He has prayed both times we taught him. He really enjoyed church. Everyone was very friendly to him and the lessons were good. Even Fast and Testimony Meeting went real well with no wild testimonies. He commented at the end that he wanted to get up and thank everyone for being friendly to him but he did not know what else to say so he didn't.
We have finished teaching Beryl the Temple Preparation Lessons. She is all ready to go get her recommend and then go to the Temple. She has a Lung problem which she has to get stabilized first. She will never get over it but hopefully she will get it under control and not progressing very fast. We will be able to go to the Temple with her when she goes. We are starting giving the lessons to Pauline James this week. She was the one that was baptised the same time as Raymond Brewer. She has not always been active. In fact she just started coming to church about the time we got here. She must be about 70. So we should be able to go to the Temple with her also. We are really looking forward to it.
We watched the Royal Wedding. Almost on the front row. I would of had some great pictures but I forgot to charge the battery. Well the front row of the church. The ward had a social and set up the projector and showed it on the big screen. Then they had a lunch and played related games. It was all fun.
We spent 2 hours at the Vets earlier this week. Ann Cheshire's cat is 18 and apparently dying. We took her over to have the cat checked. The Vet believes the cat's kidneys are shutting down. She won't eat and is just about down to nothing. We feel bad but there is really nothing that can be done.
It is almost 10 and time to get ready for bed. God Bless you all.
Love, Elder and Sister Henry
cool pictures. Can't believe you're getting close to half way.
ReplyDeleteAmazing that the church can keep track of someone for 45 years. The Lord really does keep track of the one as well and the ninty and nine doesn't He?
